Service

By creating an account, playing as a guest, or otherwise using Debagle(the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Debagle. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use it with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf.

Debagle is a debate platform. In a ranked match, two people are given a topic and a side and argue on camera for a short time, and an automated judge decides a result. In Qrena, anyone can post a question and anyone can answer it in a short video that is scored and ranked.

The Service is provided for discussion, practice and entertainment. Scores, verdicts and rankings are the output of an automated system, not statements of fact, truth, or the real-world merit of any position. Nothing on Debagle is professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

You can sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, or start a guest session. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account and for keeping your access secure.

A guest session is temporary and tied to the device and browser you started it on. If you later link a real account, your rank, record and history carry over. If you never link one, a guest session and its data can be lost, and that is a limitation of guest access rather than a fault.

When you use Debagle, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, demean or incite harm against anyone, on camera or anywhere else on the Service;
• post content that is illegal, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that violates someone else's rights;
• impersonate another person, or record or publish someone without a basis to do so;
• manipulate the judge or rankings, including by submitting content generated to game the scoring system, or by coordinating results;
• scrape, copy, or bulk-download the Service or other people's content;
• reverse engineer, probe, or interfere with the Service or its security;
• upload malware, or use the Service to spam or defraud.

We may remove content and suspend or end accounts that break these rules, and we may do so without notice where the harm is serious.

You own what you create on Debagle: your debates, your answers, your recordings (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of it.

To run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transcribe, transmit, display and distribute Your Content, and to have our automated judge analyse it, for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This licence covers showing Your Content where the Service is designed to show it, including public question and answer pages, public profiles, shareable links, and the feed.

The licence lasts as long as Your Content is on the Service, and for a reasonable period afterwards to allow for backups and copies others may already have saved or shared.

This one matters, so it is on its own. Debagle is built to be watched. A Qrena answer, a debate you publish, and your profile can be viewed by anyone, including people without an account, through public pages and shareable links.

Do not record anything you are not willing to be seen. Where a clip contains another person, we ask for their agreement before it is published to a public feed, but once something has been shared or downloaded we cannot control where it travels.

Verdicts, scores and rankings are produced by automated systems. They are designed to be consistent and to explain their reasoning, but they can be wrong, and they are not a measure of who is factually right.

We may change how judging works, and we do not guarantee any particular score, rank, or outcome. Where the Service offers a way to report a verdict you believe is mistaken, that is the route to raise it.

The Service itself, including its software, design, the Debagle name and logo, and the judging system, belongs to Persist Ventures and its licensors. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service, and nothing more. You may not use our name or branding without permission.

Debagle is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, prizes, or other payments, we will publish the terms that apply to them before you are charged, and those terms will form part of this agreement.

You can stop using Debagle at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.

Sections that by their nature should survive the end of this agreement, including content licences already granted, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limits on liability, continue to apply.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it: not that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any score or match will meet your expectations. You use it at your own risk.

To the extent the law allows, Persist Ventures is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or reputation, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You agree to cover Persist Ventures against claims, losses and costs that arise from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent they result from something you did.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have authority over any dispute, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Debagle after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
